USS Oriskany Worlds Largest Artificial Reef
July 11th 2008 $175.00 for recreational divers $250.00 for technical divers Spots are limited and going fast!!! 50% deposit required at booking. Dive the caverns and caves of Merrit's Millpond July 12th-14th 2008 Itinerary Trip will arrive in Orange Beach, Alabama on July 10th. Hotel arrangements have been made by the dive shop and should cost about $79.00 per night. If you arrive in time, the group will have dinner together. Drive time to Orange Beach is approximately 11 hours. We will need to be at the pier around 7:00am in order to load gear. The boat is a 46 foot Dive Special with restroom facility. The crew are among some of the finest I have had the pleasure of diving with. The run time to USS Oriskany is about 1.5 to 2 hours. Technical divers will make one dive. Recreational divers will be allowed as many dives as within the safety limit. Please plan dives before departing. Air fills are not available on the boat, so make sure you bring enough tanks. (Tanks are available for rental at the shop at special pricing). Boat will be leaving the dive site around 4:30pm. For those who wish to continue the adventure, the group will drive to Marianna, Florida for Cavern and Cave diving at Merrits Millpond. Jackson Blue, Twin Caves and Hole in the Wall are just a few of the exciting caves on the pond. If you desire to see the world from the inside then don't miss the opportunity to become a PADI Certified Cavern Diver. Instructors will be on site to teach this distinctive specialty. This class will begin before trip departure date. (Please call shop for details and registration). Shop will rent a house on the millpond that sleeps about 15-17 (or more if needed). Cost will be around $24.00 per night per person. Group will depart around 2:00-3:00pm for home.
